The Public Utilities & Waterworks Management Institute provides “Industry Specific” leadership training to managers and supervisors working for public works, utilities and waterworks organizations.  The Institute has provided high quality supervisory training to thousands of individuals around the country for many years.  What makes this training unique is the understanding that it requires a proper “mix” of leadership skills and organizational (management) factors for managers and supervisors to effectively help employees develop their full potential and optimum productivity.

 

Basic Institute Details 

The basic management institute is for anyone in a leadership position.  This affordable course will teach you how to put effective management and supervisory skills to work for you and your organization.  You’ll learn to make better leadership decisions, communicate more effectively, avoid costly mistakes and get the results you want.  Plan on attending yourself or sending other managers and supervisors who would benefit from this superior skills program.

Advanced Institute Details

The Advanced Course for utility management personnel is a series of skill-building sections designed to help understand management’s changing role in today’s business climate.  Leadership principles and challenges will be discussed; individual and team exercises will support specific skill training; discussions of the future of management and organizations will be central to the learning experience.

There are 4 main topics that are taught during the Advanced Institute:

  2. Critical Thinking Skills for Problem Resolution and Innovation
  3. Decision Making
  4. Coaching and Mentoring Skills

 

Phase III Institute Details

This PHASE III Institute Program has been designed at the request of many institute graduates who wish to continue expanding their leadership capacity. The skill-building topics of this course will foster improved knowledge of the management and leadership role and prepare participants to make better decisions, prioritize and engage others in facing the monumental leadership challenges facing the utility industry.  The sharing of knowledge and ideas with peers will enhance this learning experience.
